Leaders Sign Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement for Peace in Gaza
At a major summit in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh, world leaders officially sealed the ceasefire in Gaza, aiming for long-term peace and reconstruction.

World leaders gathered in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to sign a landmark agreement formalizing a ceasefire in Gaza. The Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement was endorsed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, U.S. President Donald Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. All of the leaders emphasized that this deal marks a historic step toward world peace.
President Trump remarked, “Today is an incredible day not only for the Middle East, but for the whole world,” expressing his confidence in the ceasefire’s ongoing success and thanking President Erdoğan for his active role in the negotiation process. The leaders underlined their commitment to ensuring that the agreement sets a firm foundation for lasting stability in Gaza and the broader region.
The summit statements highlighted the significant role some Arab nations will play in rebuilding Gaza, with continued support pledged by the international community. Trump also drew attention to the urgent need for reconstruction by referencing the debris and destruction in Gaza, stressing the importance of forthcoming recovery efforts. With the agreement now signed, the focus shifts to achieving permanent peace and initiating comprehensive rebuilding initiatives in the region.
