Trump Accuses Ukraine of ‘Ingratitude’

Former President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian leaders for their lack of appreciation toward U.S. aid, referencing a disputed peace proposal and President Biden’s actions

On Sunday, November 23, former President Donald Trump used his social media account to accuse Ukraine’s leadership of showing ‘no gratitude’ for American support. Trump specifically pointed to a controversial peace deal offered by Washington, which has sparked debate in Kyiv. He also criticized European countries for continuing to buy oil from Russia despite the ongoing war.

In his post, Trump stated, ‘The ones responsible—Ukraine—have shown no appreciation for our efforts, while European countries keep buying oil from Russia.’ He went on to fault President Joe Biden for what he described as inaction at the beginning of the conflict, highlighting the differences in their approaches to foreign policy and aid.

Trump emphasized that the U.S. continues to send substantial amounts of weapons to Ukraine via NATO, asserting, ‘The U.S. keeps sending Ukraine enormous amounts of weapons, and Joe (Biden) gave everything away for free, even sending large sums of money.’ Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to meet with a Ukrainian delegation in Geneva to discuss the progress of Trump’s proposed 28-point peace plan, which has been put forward as a negotiation framework but has raised concerns in both Kyiv and Brussels.
