Belgians set to travel to Vietnam without a visa

Belgian citizens will be able to visit Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days starting August 15, 2025, following a key agreement between the two countries

Belgian travelers will soon be able to enter Vietnam without a visa for stays up to 45 days, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot announced Monday. The change takes effect August 15, 2025, and marks a significant milestone in Vietnam’s efforts to boost tourism and forge stronger ties with European countries. The agreement was a prominent request during the state visit to Vietnam in April by the Belgian King and his delegation.

Minister Prévot shared on social media that the visa waiver was one of the most important issues raised during meetings with Vietnamese officials. The commitment made by Vietnam’s Prime Minister was realized through follow-up efforts by the Belgian embassy, solidifying this new travel opportunity for Belgian citizens.

The revised policy extends beyond Belgium, covering Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. In total, citizens of eleven European countries will be eligible for short stays in Vietnam without a visa, signaling Vietnam’s intention to further open its borders to international travelers.
