Al Kafaalah Mosque in Belgium Receives Second Threatening Letter in a Week
Rising concerns follow a wave of hate-filled messages, prompting calls for stronger protection for the local Muslim community

The Al Kafaalah Mosque in Belgium has been targeted with a second threatening letter within just one week, deepening fears among local Muslim residents and mosque representatives. The most recent letter, written in both Arabic and Flemish, reportedly contained hateful and racist remarks about both the people of the neighborhood and Muslims in general. The letter’s sender used the name of a therapist from Borgerhout, leading police to question the credibility and motive behind the signature.
A member of the mosque staff immediately reported the new threat to authorities, who took precautions while opening the letter due to concerns about possible dangerous content. This incident follows a disturbing earlier letter that included a plastic bullet and a handwritten threat urging violence against Muslims. Despite the mosque’s urgent request for more security, city officials have not yet officially responded.
In response to the ongoing threats, police have stepped up patrols around the mosque and continue to investigate the case, particularly regarding the identity and true intent of the sender. The police are treating both incidents seriously and are working to ensure the safety of the mosque and wider community as the investigation progresses.
